An exciting opportunity exists for a Legal Secretary. Key areas of responsibility include:Dictaphone and copy-typing of a wide range of documentsTyping, formatting and collating notices and pleadingsIncorporating amendments to documents and verifying that amendments have been effected correctlyPreparing resource, More... counsel and client filesRetrieving legal texts from electronic databases for inclusion in documentsStrong administration and organisational skills in order to manage professionals practices (diary management, answering telephone calls and tracking messages in the absence of the professionals)General office and personal administrationPreparing pre-bills and billing memos (sending same to clients)Managing debtors with the accounts departmentFICA administration: following up to ensure the FICA requirements are completeLiaise with clients, counsel, presiding officers, experts and other service providers when instructed to do so by Lawyers Academic/Experience:Minimum 5-7 years' experience as a legal secretaryExcellent knowledge of MS Word programmes (more specifically MS Word 2010 and Excel)Knowledge on Aderant Expert (CMS) accounting systemKnowledge on FileSiteSecretarial diploma/legal secretarial diploma/paralegal qualification (advantageous)Matric essential Competencies:Must be well-organised and conscientiousStrong communication skills (verbal and written)Display attention to detailGood interpersonal skillsMaintain confidentialityHonesty, reliability and punctualityAbility to multi-taskTakes initiativeAbility to work well under pressure Excellent client relationship skillsExcellent time management skills ___________________________________________________________________________ “Werksmans is committed to participating actively in advancing transformation”
